Roger Federer Defeated By Jo-Wilfried Tsonga : Wimbledon 2011 News Updates

France's Jo-Wilfried Tsonga bludgeoned Roger Federer to an historic defeat to reach the Wimbledon semi-finals Wednesday, as the Swiss star suffered his first ever Grand Slam loss after being two sets up.

The sensational 3-6, 6-7 (3/7), 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 result condemned six-time champion Federer to his second successive quarter-final defeat at the All England Club. The powerful 12th seed looked down and out as ice-cool Federer picked him off at will to stroll two sets up on Centre Court but he left the Swiss reeling with a ferocious onslaught to win 3-6 6-7 6-4 6-4 6-4 and reach his third major semi-final.

It was the first time 16-times grand slam champion Federer had lost a match having led by two sets and put a huge question mark over the 29-year-old's chances of matching Pete Sampras's seven Wimbledon singles titles. For 26-year-old Tsonga, it will be his first Wimbledon semi-final spot where he will tackle world number two Novak Djokovic for a place in Sunday's final.

"It was amazing. I played unbelievable. It's never easy to come back against Roger. I'm so happy, it's crazy," said Tsonga, whose best Grand Slam performance was runners-up spot at the 2008 Australian Open.

Blagojevich Trial Ends Convicted in Corruption - Watch Full Video

Monday, the man who was once the governor of the state of Illinois was found guilty on 17 of 20 charges of corruption. Blagojevich was accused mainly of attempting to sell the seat that Barack Obama held in the United States Senate when he was elected President of the United States in November of 2008.

This one was far more subdued, as even Illinoisans grew tired of their impeached ex-Governor’s seemingly never-ending legal saga. Between trials, Blagojevich, whom I wrote about for The New Yorker a year ago, made few media appearances, and the judge, James Zagel, reportedly issued a gag order on the attorneys in the case. Before the decision was read, the couple looked flushed, and the former governor blew his wife a kiss across the courtroom, then stood expressionless, with his hands clasped tightly.

The verdict capped a long-running spectacle in which Blagojevich became famous for blurting on a recorded phone call that his ability to appoint Obama's successor to the Senate was "f---ing golden" and that he wouldn't let it go "for f---ing nothing."The former governor spoke only briefly with reporters as he left the courthouse.

When it comes to hairstyles, Gaga has done every do from her now-iconic bow-tie and bangs, to soda-can hair rollers, to a wig molded into the shape of a telephone --

but Mother Monster hung up her wig (literally, it's sitting on a mannequin head atop her piano, right in front of her) for her performance of 'Hair' on the 'Paul O'Grady Show.' Wearing a turquoise outfit made of hair, Gaga belted her ballad and played a piano covered in hair. During the song, she ran her hand over her bald scalp before stopping half-way through the song to grab an aqua-colored wig from a stand on her piano.

A giant rat in South Africa, much like the ones which are thought to have killed two babies this last week.Giant rats as big as cats have killed and eaten two babies in separate attacks in South Africa's squalid townships this week.Lunathi Dwadwa, three, was killed as she slept in her parent's shack in the Khayelitsha slum outside Cape Town and another girl was killed in Soweto township near Johannesburg the same day.

77-year-old grandmother Nomathemba Joyi died after giant rats chewed off the right side of her face.Residents of South Africa's impoverished townships say the giant rats grow up to three-foot long, including their tails, and have front teeth over an inch long.
The suspects in the baby attacks are believed to be African Giant Pouched Rats, a species only distantly related to UK rats, but native to sub-Saharan Africa - and the biggest in the world.

They are nocturnal, omnivorous and can produce up to 50 young a year. Some tribal people breed them for food.

Also, the parts they're marketing for their new sex comedy. Which Timberlake made clear, when, after making a joke about the "winner" of the award, he said, "What a shameless reference to my penis!"

"Even though we're in the movie Friends with Benefits, we've never dated," Justin told the audience. Mila added: "We're like brother and sister."

"[We have a] totally platonic relationship, which is why I can do this," JT continued as he grabbed Mila's boobs.

Although Mignon and Jean's brother, Samuel, have confirmed the shooting, further details about the incident have not been released. He was treated at a local hospital and released.

A rep for the singer said the bullet just crazed his hand and he's doing well, saying, "He’s fine now. It happened late yesterday night and he was released after a couple hours.”

The statement also quoted Jimmy Rosemond, who it said was accompanying Jean on his current trip to Haiti.
